The Crab mentality, also known as crab heory, crabs in a bucket mentality, is a way of thinking best described by the phrase "if I can't have it, neither can you". The metaphor is derived from a pattern of behavior noted in crabs when they are trapped in a bucket. For too long the DMV has been trapped in this state of mind. You look around and see so many amazing creatives and artists but we haven't fully unified. We want to flip this narrative. We know we can use our influence to help the cause as much as possible so we’ve teamed up to bring you a monthly showcase / party to celebrate DMV creatives of all kinds.
This is a showcase and party of course. For the next iteration of crabs in a bucket, we’ve tapped the following artists:
Chaz French, Seagraves, Travy Nostra, Lust Nite, E1even, and Nat Digga.
